Doula Services

I believe all birth is sacred and you have the right to choose where and how you give birth. Our relationship is built on trust as I learn what your desires and preferences for birth are. I provide encouragement, physical comfort, and help advocate for what you want during labor. During pregnancy, I am here for both you and your partner to answer questions and build you up so you can give birth with confidence. Birth is life changing  and I want to support you in feeling strong and capable of having an empowered experience.

Research shows that the presence of a doula decreases the likelihood of 

• having a cesarean by up to 39%
• needing artificial oxytocin to speed labor by 31%
• needing pain medication by 10%
• and having a negative experience by 31%.

I serve families within a 1 hr radius of Lapeer county. 

Womb Wisdom Doula Services $1,200.00

Services include:

• 1-2 prenatal visits 
• Access to a google drive folder filled with evidence based resources
• Call/text support during pregnancy and up to 2 weeks postpartum 
• On call starting at 37 weeks for your birth 
• Birth support 
• Photos of the birth
• Immediate postpartum support for up to 2 hours
• Basic help with breastfeeding 
• 1 postpartum visit 

Doula clients are strongly encouraged to participate in a Lamaze class, found here.

At your birth, my main role is to emotionally and physically support you, while also facilitating ways your partner can connect with you. I’m highly skilled in understanding comfort measures to help labor progress. This includes certain positions based on stage of labor, massage, counter pressure, hot/cold relief, guided visualization, conscious breathing, setting the atmosphere for a positive birth environment, and being a calming, supportive presence.  

Our postpartum visit includes a homemade meal made with love, evidence based resources for infant feeding, co-sleeping, and car seat safety. We discuss adjusting to life with a newborn, how to support optimal attachment, the importance of hydration and nutrition, and the potential signs of postpartum mood disorders.
